As demonstrated by Mega Man X and Ryu versus Iron Man and Captain Marvel in the teaser trailer, Infinite will return to the two-versus-two combat of earlier vs. Both Capcom and Marvel had input on what characters made the Marvel side of the roster. Capcom games, players picked teams of three characters to swap between. The promise of add-on content also ensures that more fan-favorite Marvel and Capcom fighters can be added in time, although whether or not Marvel will lighten up on its apparent boycott of Fantastic Four and X-Men characters is still up in the air. Characters were, officially, chosen primarily based upon how they would fit into the story mode with some gameplay considerations for characters that needed to fill out the roster with a variety of gameplay styles. Capcom: Infinites' biggest draws is its roster that will be made up of notable names from a variety of beloved franchises. Capcom: Infinite names over 20 characters that are supposedly in development, several of which are fighters from the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Ryce went on to acknowledge that he was unsure of who the final Capcom rep would be, but suggested that it will likely be someone like Frank West of Dead Rising fame.
